Visit this local destination from the Beverly Garland Hollywood hotel

Santa Monica Pier

Today our blog features Andrea and Angel, our front desk supervisors, sharing their insights into the Studio City area. No one knows Los Angeles like the locals!

1. What’s your favorite activity at The Beverly Garland?badge-slapmedown01
Angel: During the summer we have Dive-In Movies at the pool. It’s definitely the highlight of the summer at The Beverly Garland.
Andrea: Slap Me Down Coasters. I know it’s really not activity but it’s great to share with the guest to let them know about Tula’s Restaurant.

The Grove

2. What Los Angeles activity do you always recommend to visitors?
Angel: The Grove, lots of great shopping and it can be a celeb sighting spot! I also tell people to check out Santa Monica–especially the Santa Monica Pier, since it’s an LA landmark and 3rd Street Promenade, their big outdoor shopping district.
Andrea: Definitely Universal Studios and Universal City Walk! Lots of places to see and things to do. It’s great because at The Beverly Garland we offer complimentary trolley service to and from the park.

3. Where is the best place to get dinner and drinks near Studio City?
Angel: If you’re in the mood for sushi, there are some great places along Ventura Blvd. I always recommend Teru Sushi.
Andrea: Jerry’s Famous Deli. It’s open late and close to the hotel. Plus you might even spot a celeb or two.

4. If you only had one day to spend in LA, what would you do?
Angel: Oh wow, good question! I would try to squeeze in Chinese Theater, The Grove and then end the day at Santa Monica.
Andrea: Let’s see…I would spend an hour or two walking the Hollywood Walk of Fame to check out all the celebrity stars and then check out Beverly Hills. I would also spend the day around Santa Monica and Venice Beach. They’re are located next to each other – perfect for a beachside day in LA.

5. What’s your #1 travel tip?
Angel & Andrea: We both agree to rent a car. There is so much to see and do in LA. It’s much easier to get around if you are able to rent one. If not, Beverly Garland offers a private transportation service – just ask us for details!
